My Story
I’m Tamie Stuttle—truck driver, advocate, and trailblazer working to reshape the transportation industry.
In 2018, I stepped into a new chapter as an empty nester from Central Illinois, rebuilding my life after an abusive marriage. The open road became more than a career, it became a place to find strength, clarity, and purpose. What started as a personal reset quickly grew into something bigger: a mission to empower women in trucking and challenge an industry ready for change.
My Journey on the Road
With nine years in the industry, I’ve worn just about every hat. From company driver, trainer, owner-operator, and Training Specialist. After earning my Class A CDL, I launched my own company and navigated the realities of entrepreneurship in a male-dominated field.
Today, I mentor new drivers and help shape the next generation of trucking professionals. My approach is grounded in real-world experience, focused on safety, precision, and practical problem-solving. Whether I’m guiding a rookie through their first haul or rethinking how we train drivers, my goal is simple: build confidence, competence, and safer roads.
Leading with Purpose
Advocacy is at the core of everything I do. I fight for stronger CDL training standards, better industry accountability, and real equity for women behind the wheel. Through initiatives like “I Have a Voice,” I work to amplify the experiences and perspectives too often overlooked in trucking.
My appointment to the Transportation Research Board’s Standing Committee on Truck and Bus Safety (2025–2028) reflects that commitment. I focus on practical solutions—improving early-career driver training, reducing turnover, and addressing the safety challenges drivers face in their first three years on the road.
Sharing Stories and Solutions
My podcast, Truckin’ with Tamie, is where real conversations happen. From exposing gaps in CDL training to highlighting voices like Danielle Cessna in entertainment trucking, the show tackles the issues that matter most to drivers today.
I also write for industry publications and share insights through my blog, covering safety, resilience, and life on the road. Every story is meant to inform, challenge, and move the industry forward.
Beyond the Wheel
Central Illinois will always be home. I’m a proud mom of four and grandma to three, with a new grandson arriving in 2025. Family keeps me grounded, while the road keeps me inspired.
